Within
a child learning center, the basic amenities are all classified under the
context of child care equipment. Generally, this would consist of such items as
furniture pieces and other supplies, even including such items as the
children’s playhouse and paraphernalia.
These
amenities have all the required quality checks needed to ensure that they all
pass the primary consideration of safety and durability. To this day, however,
there is still a continued and ongoing research focused on the safety factors
of the equipments, including the important aspect of whether they are age-appropriate.
Guidelines
These
equipments and other supplies (including furniture) for the whole facility
would have to maintain their physical environmental essentials, which includes
being age-appropriate. This is necessary because the physical environment can
work for or against the conditions needed by the children.
One
example would be the total environment for toddlers, for instance. It had been
established that the space needed should not be too crowded or too open. The
requirement is that there has to be an appropriate space for some large motor
activities for the children (jumping, dancing, and playing with blocks and
others).
Equipments short list
Some
of the short-listed equipments necessary for the children are various programs
and activities include such items as child-sized recliners, racks for coats and
other dress-ups, paint brushes, flannel boards, nap mats, non-toxic alphabet
blocks and balls, infant bouncer cars, among the many others.
Other
items that the learning center can stock up include such tings as observation
tables and child-sized chairs that go with them, playpens, playhouses, safe riding
objects, toddler slides maybe, sand boxes and others.
Arrangements / more
supplies
In
these facilities, the equipments and supplies that are stocked (and which
children use extensively) need to be grouped alongside each other in related
areas of interests. These would be most appropriate in such subjects as the
arts.
There
would be easels, smocks and aprons (to protect the clothes), glues, pastes,
tempera paints, water colors, crayons and pencils. There are more items, but
the main consideration is that they are all child-appropriate and safe.
The sciences
For
the older and science-minded youngsters who will do their basic science-related
activities, there might be need for water and tables, measuring cups, funnels,
straws, hoses, spoons, and others.
The
materials they can work with might include some cardboard bricks, wood blocks,
train sets, houses, plastic blocks, even including rice and beans.
Reading group / drama
Another
group that might be centered on reading and books need to have their own
material supplies as well. The items might include book shelves, reference
books, picture books, posters and charts.
The
drama and arts group might make do with play magic wands, bell cushions and
pillows, cassette tapes, lacing boards, beads and laces, puzzles, counting
props, drawing boards and others. They might also need some play-acting props
like old clothes, gloves, dolls, small tables and chairs, puppets, mirrors,
plastic hats, costume jewelry stuffed animals, plastic dinner ware, doctor’s
kits and many other play acting props.
The
many child care equipment materials are all necessary for a child learning
center since they shall be of use in the continuing learning processes.
